Our Story

Hi, I’m Collette – the proud owner of Winnie 541 and Lillian 246 and lover of all things Mersea Island. For the past 16 years, whether, Mad, Sad, Happy or Glad, Mersea Island would be where you would find me. Whatever I was looking for, a brisk walk, a shout at the sky, a laugh, a cry or just a lovely plate of seafood…it never failed to give me everything I needed. It is, in short, ‘My Happy Place’.

 

However, whilst enjoying the islands wealth of natural beauty, I inevitably found myself outdoors, which although is something I love, it can often conflict with my need for comfort! The solution I quickly found…hire a Beach Hut!

After many years enjoying other people’s rentals, I was fortunate enough to buy my own and “The Bathing Huts of West Mersea” was born. My aim is to provide a luxury base for families, friends, couples, or singles to enjoy the beach and the island from. The Huts design have been inspired by my love of the sea, words, and all things wild, and of course, with a strong focus on comfort! Whether they are a meeting place, a place to relax, celebrate in or escape to, my aim, most importantly is to create a beach hut from which to enjoy ‘My Happy Place’.
